Heidelberg

Heidelberg is situated at the foot of the Suikerbosrand , along the N3 highway connecting Johannesburg to Durban .

The town originated in 1862 as a trading station. Many of the buildings dating from the 1890s to 1910s have been preserved and remain characteristic of Heidelberg.

The home of AG Visser , the well-known Afrikaans poet , is located in the town.

Heidelberg is also known for its annual “Vark Fees”

Stukkies & Stokkies is a unique venue with a fairytale character. Our venue is situated on the banks of the Blesbokspruit with full water frontage. We offer outside ceremonies with the water and willows as a backdrop. Our reception area consists of a charming Lapa with an adjacent kitchen that opens up onto a covered deck area, built around a huge tree. The view of the water and willows and the sounds of nature all around, create a magical atmosphere.
